2nd Engineer

As a 2nd Engineer, you will play a vital part in technical operations and report to the Staff Chief Engineer and Chief Engineer. You will consistently monitor, control, and troubleshoot all engine machinery equipment while being on watch in accordance with our policies, procedures, and safe working practices, promoting a strong safety culture and adhering to all environmental policies and procedures at all times. 

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Ensuring compliance with Engine Room Resource Management standards
  • Maintenance and repair (but not limited to) of the following: bilges and bilges tanks; chemical analysis and treatment of boiler water, cooling water, A/C pre-heating, and re-heating water systems; lifeboats, tender boats, rescue boats, and file rafts winches; Purification system; Lubrication system; Hydraulic system; Electric propulsion motors (where applicable); Boiler and Steam Plant; and HFO, MDO, LO purifier; consumption analysis calculations
  • Ensuring compliance with all relevant flag states and classes as well as other applicable regulations
  • Ensure that all machinery assigned are in working order and in compliance with carrying out Environmental, Health, and Safety procedures; ensure maintenance is carried out at due intervals in accordance with planned maintenance and service requirements, and all related logs and records are updated 
  • Compile Monthly Condition Report and update equipment technical cards of machinery assigned to him and his watch subordinate

Galley Service Technician

JOB DESCRIPTION

Galley & Hotel Service Technician are the behind-the-scenes superstars who support the culinary team by ensuring the maintenance and upkeep of all Galley equipment mechanical, electrical and electronic components. You will be part of the amazing Engine Team on board reporting to the Facilities Maintenance Manager but working closely with the number of the Hotel Managers to ensure all the equipment in the Main Galley, Crew Galley, Services Galley, Pantries and Specialty restaurant Dish and Glass Washers is fully functional and ready to serve our guest needs.  

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Preventive maintenance, upkeep and troubleshooting of the following Galley and Main Laundry equipment mechanical, electrical, and electronic components
  • Perform the comprehensive electrical/electronic* and mechanical maintenance (where indicated and trained), repair, routine testing and automation trouble shooting of the above-mentioned equipment.
  • Ensure the inventory of strategic spare parts onboard is sufficient to adequately maintain each machine for which he/she is responsible.
  • Ensure the safe and efficient operation of the equipment for which he/she is responsible.

Food and Beverage Director

JOB DESCRIPTION

 As a Food and Beverage Director, you will be responsible for overseeing the entire Food and Beverage Operations on board, including the galleys, all the restaurants and food outlets, all the bars and nightclub, the storeroom, and our Auxiliary Services department. You will lead a team of managers to ensure that our guests enjoy the best possible food and service.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Oversee the organization, planning, administration, and day-to-day running of the Food & Beverage Operations Department in accordance with company policies, procedures, financial plans, and targets
  • Direct and control the department in such a way that all company service and operational procedures are fully utilized, yet revenue opportunities are maximized
  • Monitor food & beverage supply financial plans with a focus on ensuring expenditures are maintained within set parameters of financial plans both monthly and fiscally. Adjust accordingly to correct if needed
  • Ensure the quality of product and high standards of service is always provided to the guests. Actively monitor the Total Guest Experience Monitor (TGEM) results. Discuss with department leads and formulate strategies to ensure food and service excellence.
  • To be actively involved in the welfare and career of the team members through informal or scheduled meetings, performance reviews, and counselling when needed
  • Ensure fair scheduling and treatment of crewmembers is carried out by all management. Monitor & ensure Fun time records for the department are in due compliance with MLC regulations. Overview and final line approver of department overtime
  • Observe guest service in all areas of the department and suggest/implement improvements where necessary

Management Trainee Dining Room

JOB DESCRIPTION 

This is a Training Program covering all aspects of the Food Operations Department - on successful completion of six months the trainee will be promoted to Assistant Food Operations Manager. To assist the Food Operations Manager in the overall operations of the food production, auxiliary guest services, planning, organizing, and executing assigned tasks. To ensure all company procedures and specifications are adhered to.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Oversee the monitor all galley equipment to ensure that they are handled and used as per policy and operating parameters to prevent breakdowns. Conduct & monitor scheduled maintenance of galley equipment in coordination with the culinary arts & technical team.
  • Management of supply ordering and issuing with an understanding on the difference between master and non-master supply orders. Ensuring that minimal storeroom inventory levels on all food operations supply items is maintained
  • Lead & engage with Galley supervisors & galley attendants in objectively driven briefings and training. Consistently track Galley Attendants' progression to promotions and successful completion of tests & training.
  • Conduct new hire & returning crew induction along with the Galley Supervisor. Place specific emphasis on their roles & responsibilities, Carnival Vision Statement Culture Essentials, Carnival Values, Safety, workplace conduct, & Regulatory compliance.
  • Monitor & prepare Funtime records and schedules in due compliance with the MLC regulations as it relates to the Auxiliary and Food Ops management positions

Liquor Specialists are responsible for managing and promoting the sale of alcoholic beverages throughout the cruise ship. This role involves interacting with guests to offer an exceptional experience by providing expert knowledge of the ship’s beverage offerings, creating personalized recommendations, and ensuring that the ship’s bars and lounges are stocked and organized with a wide range of quality spirits. The Liquor Specialist also plays a key role in maximizing sales while upholding the cruise line's high standards of service.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Understanding of customer needs in a liquor store environment
  • Product knowledge and a willingness to learn and understand whilst providing the highest level of hospitality.
  • Display the enthusiasm, energy, and care for the experience and needs of customers onboard

JOB DESCRIPTION

The Boutique Manager will provide leadership for the onboard retail shops to promote and model our high-quality retailing standards, continuously driving maximum sales results, superior quality customer service, talent development, and engagement. The Sales Manager must demonstrate honesty and integrity in all interactions.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Sales

  • Motivate and coach sales team to achieve/exceed sales and promotional targets.
  • Establish effective target- and goal-setting standards.
  • In partnership with the Operations Manager, ensure an effective and accurate promotional planner is in place.
  • Train the sales team to ensure successful key promotions, specialty sales, and execute a daily program for specific cruise itinerary to maximize passenger flow on sales floor.
  • Analyze sales and inventory reports, providing feedback and results regarding both top and opportunity sellers to the Operations Manager.
  • Validate the end of Cruise reporting and financial data is accurate.
  • Proactively ensure that the sales team is strategically placed on shop floor based on knowledge & skill sets in order to maximize sales and productivity.
  • Provide appropriate feedback to ensure that the sales associates are utilizing set customer service process and merchandise upgrading techniques to meet the guest’s needs, improve their shopping experience and increase opportunities for purchasing and maximizing sales.
  • Through effective coaching for sales techniques and other MSC training, maximize all opportunities to close sales.
  • Verify that the sales team is informed of product knowledge, selling and customer service techniques.
  • Attend to each guest’s need to ensure an exceptional guest experience.
  • Coach associates to exceed Customer Service rating expectations and validate by actively managing guest feedback according to established procedures in a professional and timely manner.
  • Handles customer complaints professionally and with a problem-solving mindset.

  • Responsible for ensuring that the sales team is kept informed and is in compliance with all safety, security, the company’s environmental policy, the safety and security rules and regulations as outlined by Company and cruise line command at all times.
