JOB DESCRIPTION

An Upholsterer is responsible for maintaining, repairing, and refurbishing the upholstery on a cruise ship, including seating, curtains, and other fabric-covered elements throughout the vessel. This role ensures that the ship’s interior remains comfortable, visually appealing, and in good condition for passengers and crew.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Repair and refurbish upholstery on chairs, sofas, and other furniture to maintain comfort and appearance.
  • Replace or repair damaged or worn fabrics on various surfaces, including seats, cushions, and drapery.
  • Perform routine maintenance on upholstery and related fixtures to extend their lifespan.
  • Work closely with interior designers, ship management, and other maintenance staff to align with the ship’s design standards and requirements.
  • Create custom upholstery solutions based on specific design requirements or preferences.
REQUIREMENTS
  • GRADE 12
  • South African passport
  • Minimum of 3 years relevant experience
