JOB DESCRIPTION
Liquor Specialists are responsible for managing and promoting the sale of alcoholic beverages throughout the cruise ship. This role involves interacting with guests to offer an exceptional experience by providing expert knowledge of the ship’s beverage offerings, creating personalized recommendations, and ensuring that the ship’s bars and lounges are stocked and organized with a wide range of quality spirits. The Liquor Specialist also plays a key role in maximizing sales while upholding the cruise line's high standards of service.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Understanding of customer needs in a liquor store environment
- Product knowledge and a willingness to learn and understand whilst providing the highest level of hospitality.
- Display the enthusiasm, energy, and care for the experience and needs of customers onboard
- Working with a variety of liquor products
- Assisting with deliveries and stock room work for the replenishment of the boutiques on-board
- Involved in inventories and stock take
- Supporting your team in special events such as daily promotions and specialist talks on-board
- Driving sales of brand products
- Delivering excellent customer service
- Educating consumers with product knowledge
- Living and working on a cruise ship for 6-8 months
- Living and working on a cruise ship (you could be anywhere in the world!)
- Creating an exceptional and memorable retail experience for guests on board
- Maximising sales by promoting a quality range of liquor products through onboard seminars, presentations, and in-store events
- Developing detailed and extensive knowledge of all products as well as the brand culture
- Exceeding sales targets and participating in promotional events such as seminars and presentations
REQUIREMENTS
- Must be 21 years of age or over
- Good retail and customer service background with knowledge of liquor products an advantage
- Outgoing and enthusiastic personality
- Good work ethic and able to travel for 6-8 months
- Strong retail background and knowledge of liquor products
- Excellent face to face customer service and sales ability, utilising strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Motivated and driven to achieve sales targets
- Proven ability in public speaking and showcasing luxury items
- Adaptable to change and able to work in a high-pressure environment
- A strong team player who is goal orientated
