REQUIREMENTS
  • Grade 12- Matric certificate
  • Valid Passport
  • Minimum of 2 years relevant experience

Physiotherapist

JOB DESCRIPTION

The physiotherapist is expected to support the medical team with assessment and treatment of crewmembers as per the Doctors’ request and mitigation and prevention of injuries in support to our Safety Officer, Safety team and Staff Captain. To consistently exceed crew expectations and provide the highest levels of product and services, additional duties and responsibilities may be assigned as needed in coordination with the shoreside Medical Operations and Risk Management.


RESPONSIBILITIES
  • The Physiotherapist shall understand the Safety and Quality Management System (SQM) and carry out the policies and procedures appropriate for his/her position.
  • Provide administrative assistance to onboard team including completion of medical forms/reports.
  • Ensure confidentiality of medical information.
  • Provide one on one or small group training to new / joining crew in critical departments: Food Service, Food Preparation, Housekeeping, Entertainment. 
  • Monitor on-board muscle-skeletal injuries and focus attention (oversight and training) on departments and work functions with heightened injury statistics.
  • Maintain current medical records in Sea Care for all crew members that have benefited from physiotherapy assessment and/or treatment. 
  • Organize the daily schedule in conjunction with the Sr Doctor including but not limited to appointments for patients, training, safety meetings, shipboard injury mitigation and prevention programs, reporting to shoreside and shipboard team, etc. Each Physiotherapist will serve at scheduled times each day. 
  • Performs other related duties as assigned or as directed. The omission of specific duties does not preclude the supervisor from assigning duties that are logically related to the position.


REQUIREMENTS
  • GRADE 12
  • South African Passport
  • MA degree in Physiotherapy or similar relevant field
  • Diploma /degree from an accredited Physiotherapist school or university.
  • Valid Physiotherapist license from country or state/province of origin is required. 
  • Minimum of 3 years relevant experience

Doctor

JOB DESCRIPTION

As the onboard Doctor, you will provide medical services to crew members and guests. You will also support the Staff Captain and Senior Doctor in all health-related matters at sea, including illness reporting and outbreak prevention.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Managing the shipboard medical centre's medication and supply budget
  • Assisting in crew safety and personal hygiene orientations
  • Supporting food-handling and galley inspections
  • Provide emergency care including advanced life support (ALS), intubation, suturing, and stabilization for medical evacuation if needed.
  • Implement quarantine, isolation, and sanitation protocols when required. 
  • Supervise and support nursing staff and paramedics onboard.
REQUIREMENTS 
  • GRADE 12
  • South African/ Mexican Passport
  • Three years minimum clinical experience in Acute Care setting, after completion of a recognized medical training program is required. 
  • One-year practical experience in Advanced Cardiac Life Support is required.
  • One-year experience in diagnosing and treating a broad range of medical conditions is required, including experience performing minor surgery such as suturing, removal of benign skin lesions, removal of foreign objects, removal of ingrown toenails, and identification of and immobilizing of simple fractures.
  • Intermediate to Advanced verbal and written level of English is required.

Youth Staff

JOB DESCRIPTION

Organizes and leads youth activities, for ages 6 months -17 years, in designated activity centres, assigned areas and throughout the vessel by performing the essential duties and responsibilities.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Participates in embarkation procedures by disseminating information regarding the Adventure Ocean Program, Youth Evacuation Plan, and directing and escorting guests to staterooms.
  • Determines the activities to initiate based on the ages and the needs of the children assigned to participate in the scheduled activity. Organized and leads a variety of established age-appropriate activities. 
  • Acts as a role model for the youth with regard to leadership, friendliness, diplomacy, honesty, fair play, sportsmanship and open-mindedness. Exercises discretion and good judgment when interacting with the children. Maintains a constant awareness of the children’s whereabouts and their safety. Intervenes when a conflict arises or when a child needs extra attention or assistance in order to enjoy the activities. Responds to any type of emergency 
  • Maintains discipline within assigned group to ensure safety precautions are followed.
  • Communicates with parents in a tactful and courteous manner to generate a high level of comfort. Acts as liaison between the Youth Activities Manager and the parents
REQUIREMENTS
  • GRADE 12
  • Bachelor’s degree in education, recreation or related field from an accredited university or college or the international equivalent
  • South African passport
  • Three to five years' experience working with large groups of youths ages 6 months -17 years
