Housekeeping Executive

JOB DESCRIPTION
The Housekeeping Executive is responsible for overseeing and managing all housekeeping operations onboard the cruise ship to ensure the highest standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and guest satisfaction. This includes managing a team of housekeeping staff, maintaining all guest and crew accommodations, public areas, and ensuring compliance with company and maritime health and safety standards.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Supervise and coordinate day-to-day operations of the housekeeping department, including cabins, public areas, crew areas, and laundry services.
- Manage a multicultural team of room stewards, cleaners, laundry attendants, and supervisors.
- Conduct regular inspections of guest staterooms, corridors, public areas, and crew quarters to ensure high cleanliness standards.
- Ensure timely turnaround of staterooms, especially during embarkation and disembarkation.
- Monitor inventory levels of housekeeping supplies and linens; manage requisitions and stock control.
- Train, coach, and evaluate housekeeping staff; ensure adherence to service standards and operational procedures.
REQUIREMENTS
- GRADE 12
- South African passport
- Minimum 3–5 years of housekeeping management experience in a hotel, resort, or cruise ship environment
