JOB DESCRIPTION

Supports live water-based shows as stage and dive crew on board Royal Caribbean ships.

REQUIREMENTS

• Grade 12 (Matric) or basic education equivalent
• Valid passport
• Open Water diving certification (minimum) from PADI or an equivalent recognised agency (SSI, SDI, NAUI)
• Able to dive using SCUBA and work underwater in a confined freshwater pool for 60 minutes or more during a live performance
• Experience in underwater rescue scenarios; able to act as a first responder and hold another person in a rescue
• Stage Technician experience strongly preferred
• Good spoken and written English

VIDEO REQUIRED (approx. 10 minutes)

Your video must show:

1. Treading water without flippers for 5 minutes (2 minutes with hands out of the water)
2. Assembling your diving gear (in under 2 minutes)
3. Exiting the pool with tank on, unassisted and without railings
4. Swimming: backstroke, breaststroke and full-body freestyle with head underwater (frog kicks not accepted)
5. Underwater swimming with and without gear
6. Mask re-sets
7. Approx. 10 universal PADI hand signals
