JOB DESCRIPTION

The Security Officer on a cruise ship is responsible for ensuring the safety and security of passengers, crew, and the vessel. This role involves monitoring the ship’s security systems, conducting regular patrols, and responding to security incidents. The Security Officer works to prevent and address any security threats or breaches and maintains a safe environment on board. 

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Conduct regular patrols of the vessel, including passenger areas, crew quarters, and cargo areas, to ensure security and detect any irregularities. 
  • Respond promptly to security incidents, including disturbances, theft, or emergencies, following established procedures. 
  • Verify identification and conduct security checks on passengers, crew, and visitors as required. 
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and security policies established by the cruise line and maritime authorities. 
  • He/she shall be familiar with the procedures of solving passenger complaints

REQUIREMENTS
  • GRADE 12
  • South African passport
  • Minimum of 3 years relevant experience
