JOB DESCRIPTION

The Pastry Chef is a specialized culinary professional responsible for creating and overseeing the preparation of desserts, pastries, and other baked goods. This role involves developing innovative recipes, ensuring high standards of quality and presentation, and managing the pastry section of the kitchen.  

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Develop and design a variety of dessert and pastry recipes, including cakes, pastries, and confections.
  • Occasionally interact with guests to receive feedback and make adjustments as necessary.
  • Works on the pastry production and will be directly involved in the quality, consistency and quantities of the product.
  • Create and update dessert menus, taking into account seasonal ingredients and current trends.
  • Delegate tasks effectively and manage workflow within the pastry section.
REQUIREMENTS
  • Previous experience in a hotel, resort or cruise ship food preparation area helpful but not required.
  • GRADE 12
  • South African passport
  • Qualification in Hospitality
