JOB DESCRIPTION

An IT Support Specialist on a cruise ship is responsible for managing and maintaining the ship's IT infrastructure and providing technical support to crew and passengers. This role ensures that all IT systems, including those related to communication, entertainment, and operational functions, run smoothly and efficiently throughout the voyage.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Provide technical support to crew members and passengers for various IT-related issues, including hardware, software, and network problems.
  • Monitor, maintain, and troubleshoot the ship’s IT systems, including computers, servers, network devices, and communication systems.
  • Oversee the ship’s network infrastructure, including Wi-Fi and satellite communications, ensuring reliable connectivity and performance.
  • Maintain accurate records of IT systems, support requests, and inventory of hardware and software.
REQUIREMENTS
  • GRADE 12
  • South African passport
  • Minimum of 3 years relevant experience
