JOB DESCRIPTION

An Incinerator Technician on a cruise line is responsible for operating and maintaining the ship's incineration system, ensuring that waste materials, particularly non-recyclable or hazardous items, are disposed of in compliance with environmental regulations and the cruise line's operational standards.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Safely operate the ship's incinerators to dispose of waste materials, ensuring proper incineration and minimal environmental impact.
  • Oversee the proper sorting and segregation of waste materials for incineration, including non-recyclable waste, medical waste, and other designated items. 
  • Perform regular maintenance on incinerator equipment to prevent malfunctions and extend the life of the system. 
  • Ensure that all safety protocols and procedures are followed when operating the incinerator to prevent accidents, fires, or other hazards. 
  • Ensure that the ship is in compliance with international environmental standards and regulations related to waste management and incineration. 
  • Maintain accurate records of waste incineration operations, including quantities, types of materials, and operational parameters. 
REQUIREMENTS
  • GRADE 12
  • Minimum of 3 years relevant experience
