JOB DESCRIPTION
The Housekeeping Manager is responsible for ensuring the cleanliness, hygiene, and overall upkeep of all guest staterooms, public areas, and crew accommodations aboard the cruise ship. This role involves supervising a large housekeeping team, maintaining international hygiene standards, and delivering excellent guest service. The ideal candidate must possess strong leadership abilities, attention to detail, and previous experience in hotel or cruise housekeeping operations.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Oversee daily stateroom cleaning, turndown service, and embarkation/disembarkation turnaround.
- Supervise the cleaning and maintenance of all public areas, including lobbies, restrooms, corridors, lounges, stairways, and recreational areas.
- Conduct regular inspections to ensure impeccable hygiene and presentation standards.
- Implement cleaning schedules in crew zones in compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Conduct training sessions on cleaning standards, safety protocols, and service etiquette.
- Monitor housekeeping supply levels (cleaning agents, linens, toiletries, etc.). Handle guest complaints or service issues promptly and professionally.
REQUIREMENTS
- GRADE 12
- South African passport
- Minimum 3 years of housekeeping supervisory or managerial experience in a hotel, resort, or cruise ship.
