 JOB DESCRIPTION 

A Baker Trainee, often referred to as a Baking Apprentice or Junior Baker, is an entry-level position designed to provide foundational experience and training in the baking profession. This role involves learning and assisting with various baking tasks and gaining practical experience under the guidance of experienced bakers or pastry chefs.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Assist in preparing ingredients, such as measuring, mixing, and portioning doughs and batters according to recipes.
  • Assist in decorating and presenting baked goods, such as cakes, pastries, and bread, following established standards.
  • Help with baking processes, including operating ovens, preparing baking trays, and monitoring baking times and temperatures.
  • Assist with inventory management by monitoring stock levels of ingredients and supplies and notifying supervisors when replenishment is needed.
REQUIREMENTS
  • GRADE 12
  • South African passport
  • Minimum of 3 years relevant experience
